Welcome to the Springfield under 12’s web page, where you will be able to keep up to date with the teams results during the 2010-2011 season. The 'Mighty Springfield' is back and luckily we remain under the stewardship of Richard Vine and Mark Farrow. After a fantastic season last year - justifiably earning promotion - the team will be competing in the Blackwater & Dengie Youth League Division 2. In addition the Division runs a ‘League Cup’ in which the teams are split into two groups, the winners and runners up of each group going forward to semi final played over two legs and a 'Knock Out Cup' accross the Divisons. You will be able to review the results, scores, match reports, league positions and forthcoming fixtures here on our very own part of the club website. Having stepped up a Divison firm challenges lie ahead, but this remains a great opportunity for the boys to participate and enjoy the “beautiful game” and share in the camaraderie that comes from team sports. We must therefore continue to support them fully come rain or shine – win or lose to ensure they stick with it, work hard and above all have fun!. Remember training is every Saturday morning - at Arun close – 9am – 10.30am unless otherwise notified. As before, I make no apologies if the match reports on this site seem biased – that’s just the way it is, we’re Springfield! |

As yet the League has not fully updated their website with the tables and fixtures. However some investigative journalism has revealed that as it stands we are competing in Division 2 against 8 other teams; including 3 of our competitors from last season’s Division 3 (Danbury, Galleywood and Tolleshunt), 2 from Division 1 and 3 staying put. It being a Division of 9 teams, one team will to have a rest week now and then. Once the League has provided the list of fixtures I’ll try to keep this as up to date as possible. Sunday 12th September 2010 (kick off 11.00) League Match – Tolleshunt Knights Eagles v Springfield Venue: Tiptree (meet at Aldi Car Park 09.45). At last the season is ready to get underway; with a repeat of our last fixture last season, and let’s hope the result is also repeated! We know them well enough by now to be aware of what we need to do. Put simply, we need to work hard and maintain our shape and take the game to them. Our victory last time out, ensured promotion – coming away with the points this time would be a fantastic start to our season – COME ON SPRINGFIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
